Every year, local community organizations gather in a Student Wellness Fair. It's an opportunity for students to learn more about all aspects of wellness, from physical health to mental health to chemical health to more. We're grateful for this opportunity for students to connect with these resources on-site at school.

We loved seeing so many ALC students/families at our Spring Family Check-in Night. This was an opportunity to meet with teachers, support staff, walk through a mini-job fair, and enjoy delicious food from Ay Caramba! Appreciate all of the businesses and organizations who came to support our family engagement event.

Please help share - Our school Resource Room is in need of adult-sized clothing for the spring/summer seasons. We're looking for teen-friendly, gently worn items. We're also always in need of hoodies. Full-size shampoo/conditioner/lotion and laundry detergent tabs are welcome as well.

Items can be dropped off to the main office when school is in session, 8:30am-4pm. Location: Rochester ALC, 37 Woodlake Dr SE

Students in Ms. Holmes' Dakota Culture & Language took a field trip to the Hoċokata Ṫi Cultural Center in Shakopee, MN! This was a great chance for students to explore Dakota history through the public exhibits.

An IBM engineer visited Mrs. Goss' class and gave students a challenge to build a cell tower that can withstand an earthquake!

Students attended the high school aviation career forum. They learned all about careers in aviation, how to get their careers started, and what it takes to be successful!

Our Artist Mindset Week ended with an art show case for our Community Partners and Families! Thank you for coming out to learn about the partnership with University of Minnesota-Rochester and the Weisman Art Museum, and to create original pieces for our mural! Special shout out to Qdoba for providing a fantastic meal!

Each day, we'll feature different artist experiences: Students learned to carve their own Linocut linoleum stamp and make prints using their stamp. Another group practiced beatboxing with Terrell X (Through a partnership with University of Minnesota Rochester and the Weisman Art Museum, we were able to bring ten professional artists to work with our staff and students for a full week!)

Each day, we'll feature different artist experiences: Students learned to build a crankie box, develop a story, and bring it to life through animation with artist Erica Warren. Another group learned to dance hip hop with Averie! (Through a partnership with University of Minnesota Rochester and the Weisman Art Museum, we were able to bring ten professional artists to work with our staff and students for a full week!)

Each day, we'll feature a different artist experience: Students worked with Shea Maze on subtractive sculpting, where they created abstractive 3D sculptures using plaster. (Through a partnership with University of Minnesota Rochester and the Weisman Art Museum, we were able to bring ten professional artists to work with our staff and students for a full week!)
