The last day of school might have been yesterday, but we're still reminiscing and celebrating our graduation ceremonies! Last week, our youngest graduates celebrated their big move from preschool. We are so proud of these little learners and can't wait to watch them thrive as they head to elementary school this fall!

In Craftopia (Gr. 2-5), creativity knows no bounds! This four-day camp invites students to explore a wide variety of art materials and crafting techniques while creating projects they’ll be proud to take home. At John Adams Middle School, students are taking to the skies! We're taking the saying "the sky is the limit" literally, as students explore drone technology and aerial views.

Is your child ready for the independence of staying home alone? Whether it’s an hour after school or a few hours during the summer, this milestone can be a positive experience when kids are prepared.

Join CE Youth Enrichment at Hoover on June 15 for our Home Alone (Gr. 2 and Up) class. Students will build confidence and learn practical skills, including safe habits, house rules, after-school routines, handling phone calls and unexpected visitors, pet safety, personal safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and basic first aid. Join CE Youth Enrichment on June 9 at Hoover for Bicycle Spin Art! Students will create their own masterpieces by pouring their favorite paint colors and designs onto a spinning canvas while pedaling a bike. The results are as fun to make as they are to see! School Age Child Care

Summer School Age Child Care (SACC) Registration is almost here! Choose your own schedule that works for your family. Rates are $50 per child and registration opens at 6:00 a.m. sharp on Wednesday, April 15: https://rochester.ce.eleyo.com/child-care/3/school-age-child-care

As a small gesture of gratitude, we're continuing our annual tradition by inviting you to share a few words of encouragement with a staff member who has made a positive impact on you or your student. Your message can go a long way in brightening someone's day and reminding them just how appreciated they are. This year's cards are a nod to Rochester landmarks.

Visit www.rochesterschools.org/staff-appreciation and choose a card (or two) to send a brief, heartfelt message. We'll make sure your words are delivered to staff members during the week of May 11-15. Submissions will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

RPS is canceling school tomorrow, Monday, March 16, in anticipation of the blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Here’s what this means:

• Due to the anticipated severity of the storm, this is a complete district building closure. We will not be clearing parking lots until the storm has passed.

• School Age Child Care will be closed.

• All PAIIR, Preschool Age Child Care, Preschool, and Community Education daytime and evening classes for early childhood, youth, adults, and adults with exceptional abilities are canceled.

• Hawthorne Education Center is closed.

• All community building rentals are canceled.

• All Professional Growth Academy classes are canceled.

• All after-school activities and athletics are canceled.
